I know there are already multiple threads on this with many hundreds of pages but frankly I didnt want to sift through all those...I have always been on the Call of Duty train but I keep seeing stuff posted on here about how great Battlefield is. What would be a few reasons why I should change it up and buy Battlefield...What aspects of the game are better etc.

Pretty much this.

CoD has smaller maps and is more of a twitch based shooter.

BF3 has much larger maps with vehicles.

Game play is similar as far as how the guns handle so it is a matter of preference on map size and things like that.

So would the multiplayer have more people involved like the ground war game mode in COD?... And you can use vehicles in the middle of multiplayer if you find them and jump in?

Yes about the vehicles. Just get battlefield you won't disappointed.

There are 24 players on console And 64 on PC. Consoles are too limited to run 64.

Any vehicle you see you can jump in and operate. Jets, choppers, tanks, jeeps, and atv.

Maybe not 64 for BF4, but it definitely better see a significant uptick in players. I'm guessing 48.

Resistance 2 had 64 players without many issues in 2008, sure it didnt have vehicles or the destructive environment the way that BF typically does, but it's definitely not unprecedented.

Depends on if you're willing to get through the learning curve that comes with BF3

The new consoles should be more than capable of having 64.

Not sure if OP is on Xbox or PS3 but if he is PS3 he can play with us. It helps to play with others especially while learning.
